A Guide to Heat Exchangers (part 3)
In this final clip – the last of our guide to cooling systems – Marco Noacco, Oesse R&D Manager, explains the main feature of cross-flow, aluminium heat exchangers with plates and bars technology, produced by Oesse: compactness.
– Watch the 1° part: different types of coolers –
– Watch the 2° part: the operating principles of a cross-flow heat exchanger –
The compactness and the brazing process improve the exchange efficiency and mechanical resistance.
When we talk about compactness, we mean the maximum exchange surface wetted by fluids per unit volume.
The fin’s shapes of Oesse heat exchangers guarantee one of the best compactness on the market.
The thermophysical characteristics of the fluids generally used and the proportions of their flow rates request a different fins shape and their wetted surfaces.
Brazing technology optimize the heat transfer between the section to be cooled and the cooling section.
This process makes our coolers more efficient than the other main heat exchange technologies.
The fin shape allows a continuous separation of boundary layers and guarantees the highest heat exchange.
The high density and the fins distribution in the crossing channels, balance a solidity need and high mechanical resistance to internal working pressures despite to a heavier weight.
Plates and bars heat exchangers are the most suitable technology for the largest number of applications.
